Total "Blockheads"

In Eastern Europe some people get a driving license without knowing how to write. True story.

Of course the driver made a huge mistake BUT: he was partly looking into the sun and was going from bright circumstances into shadow, any experienced driver can tell you that can be very blinding. If he didn't know the area he may not have known there was a crossing. The pedestrian also made a mistake in my opinion. Even when you have the right and the law on your side to use a pedestrian crossing it is always wise to make sure you actually get the right of way and to put yourself in the position of a driver and not just mindlessly expect not to be hit by a car just because a few white stripes were painted on the tarmac...

In bigger cities over here, if you don't step on the pedestrian's crossing lines
no car will ever stop.
