I think a bunch of nice girls and some love would've worked better.

Today I started reading this book "The Nine", a company mostly composed of Republicans Spanish soldiers under the command of General Leclerc.

This company was the first to enter the Nazi-occupied Paris.

New book to start reading entitled "Letters From The Wehrmacht" Marie Moutier.
The Second World War told by the soldiers, the real stars.

The translation of the epilogue says:

Letters from the Wehrmacht
These letters of German soldiers, selected from those stored in the Deutsche Dienststelle of Berlin, we offer the direct testimony of those who fought on the various fronts, from France to the Soviet Union for nearly six años.Unos testimony starting at September 1939 in Poland, calm and confident, that tell us in 1940 and 1941 the euphoria of what was no more than a walkover by France, Czechoslovakia, Norway and Greece, in 1942 and 1943 reflect the full horror of the fighting at Stalingrad or in the deserts of north Africa, and ends in 1944 and 1945, with the bitterness of defeat. We are the cards offered here with their full text, accompanied by information about the personality and life of those who write, because what matters most is not to gather news about the war, if not try to understand those who did, about beings humans found a company engaged in death against other human beings.

On September 5, 1972, the hostage-taking of the Olympic Games in Munich reveals the rise of a new form of terrorism to which the police are hardly prepared. A few months later, on November 3, 1973, twenty-five gendarmes selected on file went to Maisons-Alfort to take part in new types of tests to integrate the GIGN No. 1, an elite unit of the gendarmerie that the young lieutenant Christian Prouteau was in charge of setting up. None of them really know what to expect, but the eighteen successful candidates will soon discover that their boss demands the impossible to be able to respond to the most extreme situations. Together, they will have to invent everything to reach an operational level never reached.

Here is the unvarnished story of the first ten years of the GIGN. The story of eighteen men with a strong character, led by an atypical chef. By taking up the challenge represented by increasingly complex missions, they will also have to convince some "guardians of the temple" who are resolutely hostile to the very existence of an elite unit within the gendarmerie. For the first time, the protagonists have agreed to deliver their testimonies on these first crucial years in the identity of the GIGN.
