Thom is a New York photographer who created this series of photographs being entitled Soldiers Inventories. He reconstructed the evolution of the equipment British soldiers on a Millennium we illustrate their lives on the front. I was thinking about the same scene :D

Personally, I would carry more ammo and honey instead of all
that stuff. I remember we played Arma some day this year and
Cat took somewhere over 70 kg of stuff :D

Well, in fact, many historians says that, concerning Operation Overlord and US troops in Omaha beach, lot of US soldiers get drowned due to the weight of their equipment.

This led to a reflection about the mobility of first wave troops and whether this whole mess was really useful for an assault section...
