TACO-M was created by Stern
First test version of TACO-M.
(TACO version for Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.)

  TACO-M

Functions:
Vertical / Horisontal camera movements + teleport.

***The idea is to make it work same as TACO for HD2, (Full spectator mode, controlled with computer mouse)

Tested only with GOG version of Mafia.

It might be requred not to have any other opened programs or folders with name Mafia !

Already updated, now spectator mode should work without problems.
Base code is the same, so its quite easy to make it work for other game.
Some buttons have strange robust action (have to press and hold or press twice), i know it can be smoother but basic functionality in priority, any small adjustments can do later.
I used  GetAsyncKeyState   from User32.dll to detect Keyboard events.
Hotkey functions built into Delphi works for HD2 but in Mafia it doesnt.

Spectator mode means moving the camera in any direction via Shift + X or is it different?

Shift+F to set it to camera function and then Z or X (automatic or manual camera move to follow pointing direction)
I call it spectate, have to call it something.

Functionality same as for HD2, without any moddification stuff, only Camera / Teleport ability.

Reporting, Herr Kommandant! TACO-M functions work perfectly on my Windows 7 - 32 bit with Mafia 1 version as your GOG copy, but installed from ISO files Everything works even with Mafia folders opened. The only problem improvement it needs is the smooth camera flow. It's not as H&D2, maybe you didn't work on that yet.

Even managed to get Paulie and Sam back to Salieri's bar after... 15 years

Warning: Spoiler!

Now, I had huge problems installing Mafia 1 on Linux. Same procedure as with H&D2 and Vietcong, you mount the ISOs, start the setup.exe and install. Mafia 1 does not find the disc in the virtual CD-Rom for some reason, so it can't be installed. Many have had this problem and I've spent 3 days trying to fix it The only fix, and I can give it to anyone interested, is to simply copy + paste the Mafia 1 installation into the Wine prefix, in the Program Files folder.

TACO-M does not recognize the keys for some reason on Linux. I've tried all possibilities. It launches the game, recognizes the game is running, but the controls don't work at all. On Windows, they work perfectly. Do you think it's something that can be fixed in the future for Linux? TACO-M also reads the and writes the .ini file. H&D2 TACO works perfectly except with the Save/Load positions functionality that, again, works fine on Windows 7.
