Take-off and landing are two key moments of a flight. Most accidents occur during these critical periods. This video made in Birmingham Airport, England, shows several types of Dash-8 and ATR twin propellers, attempting to land on a runway swept by a very important side wind.
Located a few kilometers from the city center of Birmingham, this airport is known to regularly have this kind of severe weather, especially in winter. In December 2013, for example, a pilot had simply changed its destination after two unsuccessful landing attempts.

Lol Maquisard, for me, if i have to go to England, it's by boat or nothing and, in addition, it makes me enjoy the journey...

Airplane is not for me, that's maybe the reason why i enlisted in the ALAT and not in the Air Force... :sylvester:
