One of the last two survivors of the massacre by SS Oradour-sur-Glane, who made 642 died in June 1944, Jean-Marcel Darthout, died Tuesday at the age of 92. He was with Robert Hébras, 91, the last survivor of the largest massacre of civilians by the Nazis in France: an exemplary man "who devoted all his life to no one forgets what barbarity can cause," said said Mayor Philippe Lacroix.

June 10, 1944, soldiers of the SS Das Reich division dating back to the front in Normandy had killed 642 people, including 247 children.
