My daughter had her oral defense four days ago for the very end of her Master's degree. According to the sms i received last night, i quote : "I exploded everything, they spent their time to congratulate me. Master's degree in the pocket", i could think that it's a very nice gift for her 25th birthday that was the day before this final exam, but it's not. This is not a gift, this is the fruit of the work she performed herself, alone, since seven years when she was here at home with me for the Bachelor's degree that she got despite hard living conditions and that kinda bad mood she was in at that time. Since seven years, she made three succesive schools in three different cities Troyes, Nancy and Paris, keeping her direction and her choices despite sometimes unpleasant comments by some who considered her strategy as "strange" and her path as “atypical”. Last two years, simultaneously with her studies, she had also to work for earning money for paying studies, home and hopefully food. No hollidays, no break. Well, there's nothing for nothing. She got the final degree now, with unanimous jury's congratulations, and this master key opens lot of doors for her incoming life.

It's an understatement to say that i'm proud to be a lucky bastard...
