A short summary about the recent riddle:

This thingy has nothing to do with Robin Hood (what I am still not convinced about...)
Additionally it is not an Umleitung-sign...

Finally this thingy is unknown by carpenters and land surveyors seem only to know, how to use it to scratch behind their ears...

The answers that are still left:

1 - Electricians

3 - Shoemakers
4 - Turners

6 - Robin Hood


So, my final guess now is (William) Turner then
