I wouldn't say I saved this little tit, I was just there when it happened.
So today at around 9:30 AM, when I was watching Bullitt(1968) with Steve
McQueen, I hear some bump noise in my window. I open the window and
look around. Nothing. Then I look down and see a little tit lying down on the
concrete below my window. I look to the left and see my neighbor's cat coming
around.
I have no idea how fast I got out, because I went trough the exit from the
back of the house which is opposite from my room and then run around
the house to get to the bird in time. Happily she was still there and the cat
was looking in my direction... probably hearing the stuff I knocked out of
my way
I managed to divert the cat away from the bird and picked her up. She was
a female. She was okay. I didn't know if she was wounded or it was from the
shock of hitting the window at full speed. The windows are mirror like when
you look from a certain angle, so I guess she saw the sky in the window and
flew full speed. This happends 5-15 times a day. Little birds hitting the window,
mostly because they scare themselves when coming for food. None got
hurt by now.
So I took this little bird, holding her in my left hand and covering with the right,
to my room. There I managed to find a small box, put some soft paper, sunflower
seeds, some water and placed the bird inside. Did all this with my right hand
After 10 mins or so, she felt better and flew on top of my monitor where she
took a poop, so she had no constipation problems
Then she wanted to
get out the window, but it started hitting it. After she got tired, I picked her up
slowly and wanted to bring her to her box again. When I was almost there, she
flew to the ceiling, and resting somewhere just on top of the window. Managed
to get to her and take her down slowly. Since it looked she fully recovered, I
opened the window and she flew right out in the tree. Good luck little tit!
