On my screen tonight: Through the Ashes of the Empire (1976)

In 1917, during World War I, the Diplomate (Dinică) and young Darie (Oseciuc) escape from a Bucharest occupied by the German Army only to come across, as they progress 'through the ashes' of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the sufferance, despair, generosity and heroism that will lead them to very different conclusions.

On my screen tonight: Forest of the hanged (1965)

I've been looking for it for 20 years. I had one episode in my head that I saw shortly before I was taken to kindergarten, I didn't know the title, name, just the one scene with specific dialog, but thanks to friends I told it to, they pointed me in the right direction. And I can watch whole it after all that time, it still hasn't put my mind to what kind of movie/series it was.

On my screen tonight another Romanian classic, Morometii - translated as The Moromete Family (1987). I read the novel in high school and we also watched the movie in class on a small 15' computer screen placed on a chair Time to watch it again tonight, after 17 years
