Sure. Once I get everything figured out. I'm pretty sure I remember servermanager not working in Wine, but I'm going to try them again.

I needed something light and quick, but with easy support for SMB, so I could connect to my NAS and download the game files without having to muck around with samba on the command line.

I will probably remove the desktop manager completely and use the default WM that comes with xorg once I get everything in place and working. Maybe I could make an "appliance" that others could download and use!

Now I that I've confirmed that it wasn't a WINE issue, I'm guessing the problem on Linux had to do with the network stack and Sabre Squadron's incompatibility with IPv6. FreeBSD of course has a completely different network stack from Linux. I'm guessing if I compiled a custom Linux kernel without ipv6 support, or disabled ipv6 support in the kernel some other way, it might work.

I'm fine with FreeBSD though. I've always preferred it to Linux anyway.
