Back from the ball of Fire Department, this evening, even if this picture doesn't come from it...
Yeah, for the non-French people, that probably means not much, the ball of Fire Department... Already that, for quite a lot of "French" people, that doesn't mean much either any more, in our time where so-called rebels of the city throw stones on the firemen who come to save people...
It's been thirty years since there had been no ball of Fire Department in Lorient ... Too kitch, too old-fashioned, too this or too that... And tonight, the eve of July 14, 2014, the firemen of Lorient dared it... According to a firemen officer, the mayor was not very hot, fearing certain excesses... C'mon, Norbert, the firemen know how and also, don't forget that, as the mayor, you are also the city's first judicial police officer by law, so it's up to you to take the means in order that the fest stays a fest... (Oh, you're sure of that, you French citizen...? Yes Sir, i am...)
Whatever, i like this... Without any Marseillaise, with (some discret) French flags... A fest managed by civilian soldiers, who signed up to Save or Die, who are still not considered as a high-risk profession, who just victoriously finished a hard strike for hiring and being paid 17 hours for 24 hours of work...
Something as the French spirit that i like, in a warm summer night, girls smiling, boys keeping cool, people dancing and children playing...
Frankly, what else...?
