I like gardening, Dan
I planted 2 Washingtonia filifera (California palm), the first one in 2013 and the 2nd one about 2 months ago. Obviously small palms...for now
I planted watermelons 2 weeks ago, for the 1st time in my life. Climate was hot (25-26°C during afternoon), but since last week it's cold...hope that won't ruin my palnts. I made these pic yesterday:

Nice! I planted watermelons 2 years ago. At the end I've only got one fruit
Not going to try again, as I don't have a lot of space, I rather plant other stuff.

Probably climate is not good in the outback, for watermelons. However I have a real "passion" for palms. Palms are green for the whole year and give to the garden a "tropical" sense. I just love them. I planted also some
Phoenix Dactilifera
and some
Chamaerops Humilis
, but they grow up very slowly. It would be better to buy at least 50-60 cm tall plants.
About bonsais, they are very hard to do, I never tried it. But I'm sure that they can give you a great satisfaction when you do it. Good luck Dan

And more amazinsg is the sequence after the shot, it was the plan to leave black in the middle of white and red. gj

Brilliant shot, maybe more appreciated if you play snooker yourself sometimes. It's such a hard game.
