Well so far so good, no strange things happened so far, starting to get used to the interface and tweaked it a little to my liking and in a way I can find my way a little better (never used 8.1). Laptop is running fine, no crashes and most important apps seem to work fine like HD2.
Only issue I have so far is that the touchpad has no good driver for windows 10, I can use it but scrolling don't work and with updates the system wants to install a new driver that doesn't work at all so I will have to to a driver roll back every once in a while unless I can block that update. Annoying but if that is the only problem I encounter on a 2008 Windows Vista laptop I guess I can live with that.
So I think I will soon do an upgrade on my regular pc, after I made backups. Then I will upgrade my running config and if I am confident most important things will run okay I will do a clean install.
It's an adventure
