WASHINGTON — President Trump said Thursday night that the United States had carried out a missile strike in Syria in response to the Syrian government’s chemical weapons attack this week, which killed more than 80 civilians.

“Tonight, I ordered a targeted military strike on the air base in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched,” Mr. Trump said in remarks at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons.”
:surprised:

The Pentagon announced that 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles had been fired at Al Shayrat airfield in Syria. The missiles were aimed at Syrian fighter jets, hardened aircraft shelters, radars, ammunition bunkers, sites for storing fuel and air defense systems.

Now let's wait to see the reaction of Bashar al-Assad and the countries of the coalition :parley: or :rambo:

"There's no proof of such poisonous gas attack"

Now we all know that overthrowing dictatorship in Irak, Libya, Ukraine and now
Syria isn't a positive outcome for those countries. Things would move forward
quickly if the global powers really tried to work together in eliminating violence in
that area, completely, and allow growth for a better life there.

Everyone has it's own interests and on top of that we have the UN :sarcy: which
are everything except United. I still don't see a conflict between global powers. It
would be nice if everyone really met together for a long discussion and find that
common goal. Then everyone would be satisfied with something and it would lead
to building more confidence and trust between nations... not the UN :D

French writer Armand Gatti, a former Nazi maquis fighter and concentration camp survivor, has died in France at the age of 93. His legacy is long: more than 50 plays published and released, several directed films and an abundant work in prose and poetry. His life was also unique.

Gatti was born in Monaco but made him poor. Her father was an Italian anarchist fleeing the fascists. He was educated at a seminary but escaped to join the partisans. He was arrested by the Nazis, tortured and sent to a labor camp in Hamburg. He escaped and was able to join the British troops in the last battles of World War II. Then, he looked for a way of life in journalism and from there he jumped to the movies. In 1961 he directed L'Enclos, his first film, and managed to release it in Cannes. At that time, his figure resembled a satellite of the orbiting system of the Nouvelle Vague. Varda and Resnauis were his friends and Truffaut praised his work.

But Gatti's disposition was directed toward the theater, more flexible and appropriate for the message he wanted to convey. From the margins of the unprofessional theater, Gatti became a revulsive one for the European theater of years 60 like author and like director. The thread of his work was a kind of defiant vitalism and tansgressor very close to the spirit of his time.

President Donald Trump ordered today a U.S. Navy task force to move toward Korean peninsula.

The task force includes aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson with full air wing, a guided missile cruiser and two guided missile destroyers.

Some days ago, during an official talk between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump asked his counterpart to do more against North Korea's nuclear program. US president also doesn't make a secret that all options are on the table, including pre-emptive military strikes.
