My fairies also got a specific piece of classic music to welcome them, when they enter home.

For Luinil, it was this one ... :)

So Nik, what are these characters / statues about? Are they from some sort of folklore? What do they mean to you?

Well NL, it's a bit hard to define it, especially in English language, but i'll try ...

Well, i like fairies, i like thinking that, as Morgane, they're not "perfect", they're whole and with pretty skills but not "ideal", you see.
I like thinking that, sometimes, when something good happens at home, as a glass that just "fail to fall", one of them is responsible somewhere.
I like thinking that, when birds come for eating at my window, it's because they feel safe because a dedicated fairy is here at home for that they feel safe.
When a specific interpretation of classic music sounds well to me, i like thinking it's because Arwen, who stands on my hi-fi system, made it wondeful for me ...

Just feeling or something like that, they finally belong to "what's up at home today"...

Sounds like you are a romantic and maybe a somewhat superstitious person.
I guess I am not, although I can be romantic and I sometimes wish I was not so cynical..
When I was in the USA I bought a "real" Indian dream catcher that is still in my home, I guess it's on the same level.

Well, i don't know if this is superstition or not. I guess it's not, you see i don't care about black cats, walking beyond a ladder or this kind of stuff.
But fairies, they're just beauty and power, although fragile. I love them for that.

EDIT : About the dream-catcher, i think it's on the same level. I like Indian culture, they easily consider as living beings what we often consider just as "things", as rivers, moutains, clouds and so on, and they "feel" the spirit of those, maybe not as any "god" but rather as beings living in their world, and they know they depend on them somewhere. There's a lot of humility in Indian cultures, much more than in Western.
