This is Maurice Ravel's famous piece Pavane for a dead princess, that Ravel composed in 1899 and dedicated to his patron, Winnaretta Singer, Princesse Edmond de Polignac.
Well, i suppose you lads have seen Richard Attenborough's movie A bridge too far (if not yet, then stop everything you're doing and watch this movie). So, if you listen well, perhaps you'll find some similarities with the main theme by John Addison. Inspiration is for free...
