When Sam Roberts Band hit the studio for the recording of their latest album, Lo-Fantasy, their producer, Youth, demanded that the band be able to play the songs live and that the record would be made as a live band.

At first the band fought the idea but Youth is a strong willed producer with a resume that includes U2 and Guns N Roses. He wasn't about to take no for an answer. The risk paid off as Lo-Fantasy is without a doubt the strongest Sam Roberts Band release to date.

Sam Roberts Band gave thirty lucky fans a live-off-the-floor sneak preview of the album in this special session for CBC Music. As you can see and hear in this session the band is tight. A nice bi-product of Youth's insistence they record live.
