Cant install SS....error code

I decided to reinstall my game because my cd key kept coming up as invalid when trying to enter RpR Justice server.
When I put my SS disc in to install that i got an error message.

ERROR NUMBER 0x80040705
STRING ACCESSED OUT OF BOUNDS.

i simply cannot install it now. so, now I am faced with buying a new computer just to play HD2 again....

please someone help!!!!!

It could be a problem with the disk... You can try downloading the game from the files section of this site.

Just click Files > HD2 > Game Files and select which one you need. It will take a short while to download, and you need 7zip to extract, but its better than getting a new computer.

Yes, the files on this site are cd images, so they are the same as what should be on your disks.

You will need something to read the disk images, though. Either something like Daemon tools to mount them, or Magic ISO to extract them or something.
