OK, I won't forget to bring the camera with me, but, in Libya1, we also need it to photograph the enemy plans, so let's be careful with the free memory of that cam :D and do not exaggerate toooo much with photos with each one of us and then post them on facebook, cause its much important the enemy plans.. :rules:

Okay guys, time for some update.

I have to tell you this, because otherwise nobody will. We started successful,
but we are tripping a bit. I went on and added more difficult maps in the last
two TLC's, to test out our capabilities. For me we are not experienced enough,
so we need to get more experience for everyone by playing easier maps and with
4-6 players. We had 7 in the last two weeks and it's already a bit hard to lead
properly. I'm thinking we should split on two 4 and 3 man group next time so
we get more experience.

Things I need to correct as a TL:
- more clearer orders and explaining
- take my time to explain a better plan, and get everyone in the mood I want to

Suggestions I would like other players to follow as TL's:
> your main job is to keep everyone busy by using the group's resources
and try to make the experience as unique as possible
> decide on how to handle each situation, but let your soldiers take the
action and surprise you on their results, good or bad
> if your group is disorganized try to regroup them and explain what you
expect of them
> you're the one that has to speak, to give orders and force your soldiers to
act with discipline. This is not easy, but please be an example of
discipline. Everyone has to listen to you when you're speaking.
> We need people with courage that want to stand up to the challenge of
being a TL and doing their best.
> Anything unclear, go read the TLC page. I explained everything there the
best I could with Morty's help and feedback. Some seem to be unclear
every time they join.
> Not everyone needs to survive!

We need more discipline and experience.

Anyone who does not want to take part of this or think they can't do their best or not
interested, please say it.

I would like players like BK to let other people figure out for themselves how to do something
I would like players like me and Fox to take more time to make a plan and explain everything
clearly and simple for everyone. Keep everyone connected and focused on their role.
I would like people to take notes when Morty finished leading a map and try to "steal" from his
attitude

Thumbs up for Nikita and Otto as TL's courage and attitude! :gj: But we still have lot's to learn.

Probably most of the people playing won't read this, but I wanted to make it clear. Just my
thoughts, they don't even mean anything to me, I just like to squeeze the juice out of things
so don't take it personal.

I agree on all counts, Except I think we can still manage +-7 players.
I understand snows concerns about the need for clear and decisive orders and keeping your team occupied.
I think with time we will adapt to coordinating large groups, it will get easier and I think the more players the better.
As an alternative, I think it would be very interesting if we had 2 team leaders for larger groups to lessen the miss-communications and "pile-ups" on sharp corners. Perhaps even a 2nd in command as opposed to 2 TL's. I think we could get away with a little more realism having 2 TL's or a 2nd in command without making it too complicated :)

Also, I realy liked the idea of taking a group screenshot. Was a little dissapointed we didnt do it b4 last TLC.

I hope Im not getting ahead of myself with these suggestions, being a new member and all.
But I would REALLY appreciate some feedback or ideas about having 2 TL's or an additional NCO or officer to coordinate operations.

Super excited for next TLC. Will finally be able to be TL.

:)

Considering both entries above, I think, Snow is not generally excluding the idea of leading larger groups or having 2 teams in one map.
Instead he suggests, to learn from handling small groups in maps first, for the experience and the training of the TLs and the players.
Threre were a lot of players in the group yesterday who have never leaded ever before and believe me, being TL is something completely different from being a player.
As a TL you nearly do nothing in a game you use to do ever before in these maps (a very different experience).
It is a completely new position and perspective you have, a good TL does not do any kill during a map (he has his men to do this job).
And believe me, it is a challenge, you can learn even for real life in that role, leading people (it is not so different in real life).

Back to the topic: Snow wants to achieve more experience by keeping the groups small at the moment. So the people can get used more intensive with their roles, they are having.
Best result would be, not just to play a role, better BE that Soldier/MG gunner/Medic/Engineer or TL, and everybody with his own personality even (I am talking about a kind of role playing).
When everything is going better, it is of course possible to have big groups again...

I have experienced great missions (also in other games like vietcong or IL2) with this gamestyle in giant formations even...
Really wonderful evenings, that are still in my memory...
"Big things have small beginnings" keep this in mind (developping from small groups to large groups).
And this gamestyle lives form the experience, the patience, the discipline of each single player and how he can even add sth. individual into the gameplay...

Thanks for the more clearer explanation Morty.

Yes, we can have two TL's. In fact, when we will be experienced enough
to play like this with only one life, the TL for the map has to assign
someone to take over if he dies. For now, as I said we are training/learning
we have more lives, so we can practice a lot and learn from our mistakes.
