PNG is less complex - it will show the actual image, and can show transparency, but it will not support any layers so it becomes more difficult to go back and adjust the image without re-adding everything.
JPG is as simple as it gets - it will show the picture, but it does not support layers or transparency, so working from it will be even more difficult. Saving as JPG is not even something I would recommend, as it is lower quality than PSD or PNG.
In this case, the PSD holds each flag, as well as different backgrounds and the earth as an individual layer. This lets you move around and resize the flags, so you can put them where you want them. If the documents were to be saved as a PNG or JPG, you would not be able to move them around, and each time you wanted to add a flag you would have to start from scratch. Do you understand what I am trying to say?
Long story short, my advice to you is to try and get a copy of Photoshop, even a trial, as this will make editing the logo a lot easier.
What program are you using to make the logo?

PSD is an Adobe Photoshop Document - it holds all data Photoshop uses such as the layers of an image, the opacity of each layer, or anything else you may change, so you can easily go back and make small adjustments to the image.Feldmarshal wrote: You use bad format of file(PSD) you must save all files in PNG or JPG
