Seventy-five years after the "Night of Broken Glass", the beginning of the Nazi persecution of the Jews, five thousand golden cobblestones in Berlin and forty thousand more scattered in hundreds of European cities recall, in the place where they lived, to the victims of terror unleashed by Adolf Hitler. Today, the anniversary of the anti-Semitic pogroms of the night of November 9, 1938, tens of Berliners will symbolically clean these tiles of 10x10 centimeters and square base.

Merkel: "Germany bottomed out at 'Night of Broken Glass', is still antisemitism"

Missak Manouchian, leader of the Resistance group FTP-MOI, is arrested by the Special Brigade N°2, a French police unit specialized in the hunt of the "internal enemies".

Tortured by the Gestapo, Manouchian will be shot in February 1944 at the Mont Valérien, with 22 of his comrades.

"Je suis sûr que le peuple français et tous les combattants de la liberté sauront honorer notre mémoire dignement."
(I am sure that the French people and all the fighters of the freedom will know how to honor our memory with dignity.)

Last letter from Missak Manouchian to his wife.
