The Port of Halifax has entered the history of WW2. Afaik, it's in this port that met most of the convoy ships to Europe and that's where they went for the treacherous journey across the North Atlantic.

Lads, here's a post in the local press . It talks about the event that is the subject of my today's post in "Today in History", about the battle of Rossignol.
I post it because, on this newspaper website, people are granted to post comments on a large part of the topics. So, there's a person who post the first comment that you can see, asking :
"Est-ce que qqn peut me dire pourquoi on fait une fixation pour les 2 guerres mondiales ?
pourquoi ne pas commémorer toutes les guerres depuis l'antiquité ? oui, pourquoi ne pas avoir un devoir de mémoire pour les morts d'Azincourt, de Marignan,... ?" ( Does somebody can tell me why there is an attachment for the two world wars? why not commemorate all wars since antiquity? yes, why not have a duty to remember the dead of Agincourt or Marignan ...? )
