I don't know, I don't like it. For me it's one of those boring new movies. Time to go back in time
and watch some movies from the 60's and 70's

Hey lads, here's something heavy, if you have more than five hours free...
Well, my father borrowed this at the public library last week, and i suggested him to make some copies of it (don't shout it from the rooftops, it's illegal of course).
So, i made it and i have watched the first one of these three DVDs. My father had this comment about it : "This is not a movie, this is not entertainment, this is history in its crude reality".
And i agree with him.

Well, this post could also be in the "What's up at home today" forum, because it's about something taking place here and also because, as often, i got this information on
Mr. Chapleau's blog Lignes de défense
.
So, here we are. It's about a movie which will be projected in February in Rennes.
The title is "L'or rouge - La bataille du sang" (The red gold - The battle of blood). Here's my translation of the original post.
June 1944. Allied armies lands in Normandy. In their holds and their fridges, dozen of thousands liters of a precious and how much symbolic liquid : Human blood.
For the first time in history, an extraordinary logistic allows to transfuse, to the soldiers on the Normandy beaches, hundred of thousands blood donations made in New-York and London the week before.
Starting with this unheralded episode of the Normandy landing, this movie offers an original view on a specific aspect of the conflicts in the first half of the XXth century : The stake of blood and blood transfusion.
Of course, i'll do my best to be there...

Not sure if this series has been discussed before but at the moment I am watching "Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter" or in English "Generation War" Nice German production about 5 German friends during WW2 and their experiences during the war. 3 episodes.
