Imagine. If you were the mayor of a small village of 200 inhabitants, regularly elected since 50 years, and if this village was the cradle of a cheese which we shall say world-famous (at least the name, i think)... That would impress you to have your face printed on 100 000 boxes of this cheese...?
It's actually what happened to Jean Gaubert, mayor of the village of Camembert, in the department of the Orne, in Normandy. At the origin of the initiative of this operation, Alain Trampoglieri, General Secretary of the national competition of the "Marianne d'or", the " competition of the good use of the local democracy ". These camembert cheeses are intended to be distributed in illustrious houses, in particular the Élysée, the Senate or the National Assembly, lower house of the French parliament.

Arf ! Indeed i don't know for you, but in my case, good use of local democracy or not, if that had to happend to me, i give back my mayor's blue, white and red sash immediatly... Good Lord ! My face on a cheese box...?!?! Come here, you Alain Trampoglieri, i smasha ya face with this well ripe camembert...
