On advice of Nik I also share this beautiful vid of Dutch Skies here:
dutch skies
Dutch Skies
from Guilty Plus 22 hours ago All Audiences
After 4 months, lots of shooting and thousands of pictures I finally can present you Dutch Skies.
With this video I want to showcase you the beauty of the Netherlands.
This video really opened my eyes about the beauty of the Netherlands. I always was complaining about the Dutch nature because I found it pretty boring without mountains and with lots of light pollution. But after seeing lots of nature in the Netherlands and lots of beautiful sunsets for this project, I finally can say : the Netherlands also got some beautiful nature.

Today we have a national holiday in Holland, King's Day on which we celebrate the birthday of our King and in a way the monarchy.
Personally I think it's a disgrace The Netherlands is still a kingdom in 2015, even if the king has no real ruling powers. Holland should be ashamed that as a so called "high democracy" we still don't have a head of state who is elected by the people. But, the majority of Dutch people have no problem with it and enjoy this day by drinking, dancing, doing drugs and having casual sex
more explanation about King's Day

We have a similar holiday here. Every year, on the second last weekend in may we celebrate
Victoria Day
, in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday.
I personally have no real strong opinions on the monarch. Canada, being a former British colony, still recognizes the Queen as head of state. Her picture is still up in every school and she has final say on laws that we pass, but she really doesn't seem to give a rats ass about Canada, so we have the Governor General to act as a representative to the queen.
Other than that the monarch is mostly for show. They provide good food for tabloids and reality TV, and draw a lot of attention whenever there is a wedding of a new family member.
