The ferries company Océane, which manages sea links between Lorient and the islands of Groix and Belle-Ile within the framework of a public service delegation contract, performed an evacuation training yesterday. The goal was, i quote "to check the good working condition of the equipment. It is also, for the crew and the rescue teams, a good training to be ready to react effectively in a rare but always possible situation.

Just for saying : My first real job in 1987, after having learn about CAD/CAM, was in a company which designs and produces such security equipments we see working at 0:37 in the video. I can say that engineering such davits systems is not really a joke and the standards and qualifications are really drastic.

Well Maquisard, don't know about saving lives but i'm sure that i contributed to create havoc in the workshop, during first times. It was my first job as i said, i was not experienced at all and in addition, we were dealing with CAD starting from zero, even the computer stuff were still in the packagings. By example, as one of my great contributions, i remember having fail three times the same part of a davit, a basic cog-wheel, so the guy at the workshop had to built it four times... :sarcy: :mm3:
