Don't know if they go to war but, about merchant fleet, Netherlands have proved everything since a long time, lads ... :mm1:

EDIT : Well, i live myself in an harbour so it's maybe more easy for me to talk about it : Netherlands have very serious skills about maritime stuff. By example, when it was about to dredge the harbour here, two years ago, it was a specialised Dutch ship that was on the work. Also, in 2011 here, when it was about to dismantle the TK Bremen which ran aground in Erdeven, 10 kilometers from here, and to clean up the site, it was again a Dutch company, selected by the Maritime Prefecture here, who got the deal. And they made it, on time and without any defect.

Yeah we know a lot about water, water management and shipping (commerce - trading). We have to, otherwise half of my country would be under water ;) I think about 30% of our land was won from the sea and rivers. Many countries around the globe ask the Dutch for advice about how to deal with rising sea levels and so on. Good chance you are talking about the Smit Tak Company Nik.Of course as a "ruling nation" we were once also "a force to be reckoned with", but those days are long gone and will never return. To be honest, as it is now as a military nation we couldn't "hit a dent in a pack of butter", lol, which is a direct translation from a Dutch proverb.

Today, in Arras railway station, two American servicemen, passengers onboard a Thalys train, mastered a son of a bitch who wanted to commit a massacre aboard. The piece of shit had a Kalashnikov, an automatic pistol, nine clips and a blade. One of the American was wounded in action, maybe also the second one.

( I wish, with the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, to express these two American passengers, who were particularly brave, who have shown great bravery in extremely difficult circumstances, our gratitude and our appreciation and admiration for the composure they showed, and without which we might have faced a terrible drama).

I do the same.

Had a minor thunderstorm going on so I decided to film some of it from my balcony hoping to capture a lightning bolt. That didn't really happen but the thunder chased some geese away flying in my direction, which I thought was kinda cool. Phone camera is not very good but what can you do. Not a life changing video but I thought I'd share anyway. Turn up volume . (lol or are they ducks?)

After a post on today's local press, here is an amateur video : Discover the city of Lorient from the top of the main church, Notre Dame de Victoire.

A maybe not well known curiosity here : At 00:40, the very first "wet bunker" built by the nazis on Scorff river, before the gigantic facilities of Keroman. This one is called here "La petite base du Scorff" (The little base of the Scorff). Following, a view on the naval arsenal and Navy facilities starts the 360¨tour. My home is somewhere full axis azimut at 00:55, nearby this kind of "bleachers" white building.
:mm1:

As you can see, this church looks a bit as a bunker inside, hu ...? :mm3:
