Did you update your system lately, Damni?
I just did it today and it broke the display drivers. Had to redownload and
reinstall my drivers from the AUR again Even the X server wasn't working
and I had to go back to my Win7 because I forgot the AUR address

Yes I update quite often. But since I install the nvidia package from the official repositories, it is updated every time the kernel gets an update.
Wouldn't it be easier for you to use the Nouveau driver?

In the beginning of my installation I tried nvidia. It didn't work. I then
installed Nouveau, which didn't work very well either. I also had an
lts kernel, headers and firmware as a backup and for some strange
reason it was using the lts... I guess the normal kernel crashed.
I would try a different install with Nouveau and lts from the beginning,
but right now it would take some time. I have to figure out what needs
to be installed to make H&D2 work with Nouveau... something lib32.

You don't need to reinstall the system for that.
Just check the Nouveau page on the wiki.

Thank you. I was thinking of installing Arch on my 10 year old HDD
where Win7 is still installed, maybe with Nouveau and a different
desktop.

what desktop are you planning to use?
I like at least 3 of them, but I'm too lazy to change.
