Once again, but now with my translation and some personal remarks by myself:
The name Humboldt is taken from Alexander von Humboldt
the term "Hain" is an oldfashioned, lyrical and romantic expression for "forest"
would have been volunteers and the French had been forced labourers.
I for myself have doubts about the "volunteers", this would have been the first time that foreign people would
not have been forced to work in military construction sites of the NAZIs. So I assume this is not true (my
personal opinion)...
It is certain, that Italian workers were forced on many other construction sites in the same years.
the Flaktower (Gun Tower) itself and the control tower, isolated from the Flaktower (Flakleitstand).
The reason was, that the Flak cannons produced such a giant amount of smoke (and vibrations which always
shaked the whole tower until its basement) that a visual detection of enemy airplanes was impossible if the
controlroom would have been in the same location. This was an experience that was made AFTER the first tower
was already finished...
So, in the south of the park area was a second, smaller tower, I guess with the mentioned deep bunker below
it.
This is an example of a control tower (in the background) of the Flaktower-pair in Tiergarten (another district of Berlin)
In Berlin there is an active registered society who is steadily caring about most of the underground systems in that city.
Berliner Unterwelten E.V.
If you ever should visit Berlin I recommend, to have a close look at their timetable for guided sightseeing tours.
They offer several of them for several locations (always very spectacular), the Flaktower Humboldthain is actually one of them.

The name Humboldt is taken from Alexander von Humboldt
the term "Hain" is an oldfashioned, lyrical and romantic expression for "forest"
1869 - 1876
Creation of the Humboldthain park by the company L. Späth,
designed by Berlin's garden director Gustav Meyer
1941 - 1942
Establishment of a high-rise bunker with four flak towers along the current urban railway tracks and a
deep bunker next to the Gustav-Meyer-Allee by Italian and partly by French foreign workers
I have tried to find out more about these workers, on another website I found, that pretendedly the Italianswould have been volunteers and the French had been forced labourers.
I for myself have doubts about the "volunteers", this would have been the first time that foreign people would
not have been forced to work in military construction sites of the NAZIs. So I assume this is not true (my

Shelters for 15000 people were established
You have to know that these Flaktowers always consisted of a pair of two towers:the Flaktower (Gun Tower) itself and the control tower, isolated from the Flaktower (Flakleitstand).
The reason was, that the Flak cannons produced such a giant amount of smoke (and vibrations which always
shaked the whole tower until its basement) that a visual detection of enemy airplanes was impossible if the
controlroom would have been in the same location. This was an experience that was made AFTER the first tower
was already finished...

it.
This is an example of a control tower (in the background) of the Flaktower-pair in Tiergarten (another district of Berlin)
1945
Latest large destruction of the close environment during the senseless defense of the bunker
until the last days of the war in May, claiming many casualties
1948
Attempt to blow up the high-rise bunker, with only the southern two flak towers were removed
1948 - 1951
Embankment of the bunker ruins with 1.6 million cubic meter remains and industrial debris
Redesign of the park in a modified form by Wedding's emergency workers
"Wedding" is the name of this specific city district
designed by the Park's Department conductor Günther Rieck
In combination with the embankment of the high-rise bunker, the 38m high Humboldthöhe arises (85m above sea level)
"Humboldthöhe" equals "Humboldt height"
and also a 20m high and 200m long toboggan run, by the embankment of the deep bunker
1982
Replanning and repair of Humboldthöhe and construction of a viewing deck
1988 - 1990
Expansion of the former high-rise bunker and the two flak towers to viewing platforms

Morty tears I jump, I swear brother, especially for the suffering they went through these guys and girls, taking their ideals, I enter the Bunker of Zahara and I swear I felt the suffering that could suffer, and it is nothing compared to the defenses of Berlin. (and I'm not Nazi.) only has been a bad season for living being young ... So you say you built this buqueres, sure to part sure Italians would have the odd Spanish republican, as I
not fear the enemy that attacks you,
be afraid of the false friend that hugs you
