I had a look on Dutch press website nrc.nl, where there's a video of French president Hollande explaining this. What i understand from French president in this video is that, basically, the French special forces didn't have any intelligence about the presence of this hostage there. Their mission was to target the group of terrorist but they discovered the hostage during their attack and so they also had to react immediately for dealing with him, in addition of their mission and even if it was not planned. A coincidence, indeed, and a coincidence which ends well.

" ... We will adapt our plan to deal with the situation. Blue Two over. " ;)

On April 13, the American justice has sentenced four former employees of the private security company Blackwater. Three of them, Dustin Heard, Paul Slough and Evan Liberty got 30 years of prison. The fourth, Nicholas Slatten, got life imprisonment. The defendants were found guilty in the killing of 14 ( or 17, depending the sources ) Iraqi civilians demonstrators, on September 16, 2007 in Nisour Square in Baghdad .

The politically correct calls them "contractors". I call them mercenaries and i don't like these times and this new fashion, consisting for the States to use such private companies for doing the dirty job. Trying to justify this by talking about "the cost" is a nonsense. Here's the real cost...

Former North Korea defense minister Hyon Yong Chol. Credit : Reuters.

North Korea defense minister has been executed for treason. Hyon Yong Chol, 66 years old, was dismissed last month for disobeying to Kim Jong Un and falling asleep during a military demonstration, and executed some days later, without any judicial proceedings.

Hundreds of people watched his execution, performed by a ZPU-4, 14.5 mm towed quadruple barreled anti-aircraft gun.

They were afraid to miss him…?
